My Journey Begins: Meeting with NSI

On the 20th of August, I received an email reply from Katie, the CEO of Never Such Innocence (NSI) :

Her positive feedback on my previous volunteer work thrilled me, and I was excited about the prospect of starting my first internship.

Before officially beginning, we arranged a meeting at the office. On the day of the meeting, I felt quite nervous, expecting a formal interview. However, the atmosphere turned out to be much more relaxed than I had anticipated. During this meeting, I also met my other supervisor, Will, who is the Director of Programmes at NSI. Both Katie and Will were incredibly welcoming and friendly. They asked about my background and posed a few questions to get to know me better. Ultimately, we agreed that I would officially start my internship on September 19th.

Even though the time spent interning before the official start of the DPS Programme on October 1st wouldn’t count towards my DPS hours, I didn’t mind. I was eager to familiarise myself with the work and this beginning of my new journey that would be both challenging and rewarding.
